Team Eichin Racing 2003-2015

The Eichin Racing Team was founded in 1980 by Walter Eichin. Born on December 24, 1950, Walter Eichin developed his passion for motorsport at a young age. He achieved some successes in karting, autocross, as well as circuit racing himself. In the early years after the team's founding, the team achieved significant successes with BMW and built on them further – Walter Eichin was one of the founding members of the Porsche brand cup series at the time. Already in the 944 Turbo Cup, the team was among the top teams and continued to confirm these successes in the Porsche Carrera Cup. Together with big driver names like Wolfgang Land and Christian Menzel, the team secured several podium finishes. In 1993, Walter Eichin achieved a major breakthrough, winning the fastest brand cup in Europe together with race driver Wolfgang Land in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The team remained active in the Porsche Carrera Cup until 2008 and supported many young aspiring drivers in their first steps in motorsport. Even after withdrawing from the professional Carrera Cup series, Walter Eichin continued to support many drivers in the hobby sports sector as a manager and team boss, gladly sharing his knowledge and experience with others. For Walter Eichin, motorsport was an important part of his life. Ambition, perfection, diligence, and the will to win made him stand out as a team boss. Even off the racetrack, Walter was a kind-hearted and lovable person who infected others with his racing spirit. Whether in the paddock or in the sacred halls of his workshop, the "IN crowd" was definitely at Eichin Racing. When he wasn't busy as a police chief inspector, he prepared his race cars for the next event. His vehicles were known to be "damn fast" and always well-prepared. Walter Eichin passed away on October 31, 2015. Currently, the team does not organize any events. With Walter, we lost a great motorsport personality, a true racer for whom only the sport counted, everything else was just "background noise". We thank Walter for all the emotions and passions that we were able to experience through him in motorsport.
